OHMA'S STORY

OHMA'S SMOKE SHACK & CATERING - began in 2024. (OMA'S) German for "Grandmother" and uniquely given the branded name of OHMA' S began when the founder's grandmother and father passed away a year apart. The grandmother loved to cook and anytime you were with her or around their home they always had good fixings at the table and enough to feed whoever showed up. No one left grandmothers home hungry, and anything grandmother cooked was declious leaving you wanting more. Everyone wanted grandmother to cook her famous receipts for church gatherings, picnics, parties, and more.  Upon their sad passing the founder decided to name the restaurant OHMA'S in memory of her. The founder than sat down with his pitmaster and formed the menu, with great recipes and delicious food that will leave your mouth watering, and your bellies full.

OHMA'S originated in Ashland, Kentucky when they opened a 140-seat brick and mortar location in July of 2024, serving the best possible smoke meats you could put in your mouth. From Excellent Ribeye's to New York Strips, Duroc Porkchops, Smoked Pulled Pork, Ribs, Chicken, Brisket, Hams, Turkeys, Chicken wings, Smoked Meat loaf to their famous sides of white cheddar mac and cheese, green beans, baked beans, potato salad, salads and more. Unfortunately, due to the times our great nation faces, it was challenging for the brick and mortar to retain employees and fight the inflation of food costs; to remain open and they were saddened to let the community down of closing their doors in Spring of 2025.

After closing the restaurant and hearing voices of their customers, the founder decided to not let the community down and rebranded OHMA'S to food trailers and to continue to offer there catering services and food trailer. Ohma's Smoke Shack & Catering continues to deliver the same great food to all of parties, weddings, company events, festivals, fairs, concerts, benefits, schools and even serves the community from the sides of the road.
